Episode 13: Way Madder NPCs

In lucky episode 13, the Merit GET! crew discuss their recent personal gaming exploits. GTA V takes the top spot claiming both André and Patrick’s partial attention, with the other dedicated to Hearthstone for André, and Pokémon X & Y for a very excited Patrick. Ashley, meanwhile, makes up for her lack of play time with a thorough overview of all the Final Mix changes that Kingdom Hearts players in North America can finally experience first hand in the recent HD re-release. Finally, fabulously late Sean wraps up the show with an depth recounting of his time in the Battlefield 4 beta.

Episode 12: Master Halo Spartan

With the introduction of the new show format, a month of news floods the Merit GET! airwaves. October’s slew of upcoming releases get their fair share of last minute updates with Battlefield 4’s recently opened beta, Assassin’s Creed 4’s prequel games sold as one package, and Pokémon X & Y’s Poké Transporter app, while GTA V online’s long anticipated launch hits the ground running (with its fair share of issues). The Capcom EU and EA free-to-play studios have their shares of downs as they lay off half their staff and close, respectively, while WB Montreal receives all the ups thanks to a large grant from the Quebec government. Meanwhile, as the Xbox One and PS4 announcements dwindle, Valve steps up with their huge reveal of a mighty trio, the Steam OS, Steam Machine, and a spiffy new specially designed controller.

In episode nine Merit GET! reaches another milestone with its first guest voice. Known as Fusionx on his own site, Gamer Escape, Ashley’s old friend and fellow podcaster Andrew sits in with the gang for the weekly discussion. The PS4 ups its hardware ante after announcing support of up to four Dualshock controllers (which will also be PC compatible), voice recognition with the PS Eye, and a dedicated gaming VR headset. Xbox, meanwhile, finally gets a release date, and some extra processing power to boot. Thanks to Andrew, the crew finally cover Final Fantasy XIV in detail, from FATEs to free companies. Episode 8: Take Us Back

The entertainment quotient is turned up to eleven in Merit GET! episode eight. The weekly news covers announcements from all three of the platform trio. Microsoft ditches its marketplace point system, Sony ditches its support of PlayStation Home in Japan, and Nintendo ditches a fraction of the Wii U’s MSRP and the hinge on its new handheld, the 2DS. Sean shares his troubles with the group, recalling the struggles of attempting to play the perhaps fatally-flawed Guardians of Middle Earth. Finally, after five long, emotional weeks, the crew wraps up coverage of The Walking Dead with episode five, along with a few very special surprises to celebration it’s completion.
